Dumb moment of the week

Did you ever wake up, and just feel it's Monday? In that quick moment before you open your eyes, it's a somewhat dreadful "I should stay right here today" kind of feeling.

I did today. And really should have stayed in bed, I think.

On the agenda today is a mountain of laundry , and two fish tanks to clean. I started the laundry, and discovered that the washer was only using hot water. I never use hot water. The hot water is turned off to the washer for that exact reason. Why is the washer using hot water then? I turn the cold faucet, and nothing. huh ?

I call the plumber. " is there a reason there is no cold water in my washer?" He says to turn off the house valve, NOW, because the only obvious reason would be a burst pipe. He'll get here as soon as he can.

Ok. so, no laundry, no fish tank cleaning. I found other things to do . When the plumber arrived, he and his helper went to the washer, turned on the valve, checked it all out. It took all of two minutes.

The problem : the washer setting was for hot/cold cycles. For a plumber's general rate of $50. just to show up at your house and look at the problem, I am very happy I'm married to the plumber. certainly not my brightest monday morning !

**UPDATE** it has been officially confirmed I should have stayed in bed .

since this post, I was able to clean one fish tank and many loads of laundry.

I tried to play with the dog, to distract her from husband , who was cutting trees. I kicked her buoy ( yes, because its the only thing she hasn't chewed through as of yet) , and it hit the wrong part of my foot. OW ! Insta-bruise anyone ? me.

Also, the dog found a 'treat' in the brush. It was a possum. Husband brought the dog to the porch, where I was stacking wood he'd cut, and put her on the tieout. "you don't wanna touch her, she was rolling in stuff" ooookaay. son rolls by and informs me that she'd rolled in the dead possum. she smelled horrible !!!

so off I go to wrested giranha dog to the tub. said dog weighs more than I do, and has sharper teeth. somehow we managed it. now to clean the bathroom. seemed the day just wouldn't take a breath. definetly should have stayed in bed !
