I planned to do some Christmas shopping today.
Husband and I have made the rounds through the stores with the kids, getting the hunting done.
Today, I went through all of the same stores, looking for those items. . .
...And they were NOWHERE to be found.
Wha?
I have pictures of the items on the shelves. In the stores.
Guess which one was the absolute WORST?
Dang. I was really getting my hopes up on the Wal-Mart Treaty.
I went through the torture of circling each aisle and department several times, sure I'd just not seen the items.
I repeated the process of hunting for an "associate" in each department to get my yearly fix of crazy looks when asking for a common item. Like a Lego base- board, and roller blades/ inline skates.
I spent two hours in that store, and left.
With NOTHING
I was considering this, as I later continued hunting online for the items- It occurred to me that perhaps I simply have the only kids on earth who ask for stuff that doesn't exist?Like a microscope.
Roller blades.
Books?
As the online search became desperate, I also reasoned with myself.
No, the stuff exists.
Of course it does silly, you went and took pictures of them.
Why aren't they there?
Because once your kids request it out loud it falls into a portal and gets sent to Jupiter.
...
Jupiter?
Sure. You can't get it there, can you? Jupiter.
Crap.
Having been though every online site in search of the items, I may have a backup plan in the works. Attempt #2 on the way.I say may because who knows what will actually happen.
Maybe by next week they'll have a $2 shuttle to Jupiter so I can go claim all those missing items! (And then I can leave Wal-Mart out of it.)
